CMI Energy is a Guatemalan entity with presence in all of Central America and is a part of the business units of Multi Inversiones Corporation. CMI Energy is dedicated to power development, construction, operation and commercialization, mainly through renewable sources, whose matrix between hydraulic, eolic and solar technology has turned it into the biggest and more important private power entity in Central America, with an actual capacity of 761 MW.

One of the main projects at CMI Energy is RENACE an hydroelectric complex, which is located in the northern part of Guatemala in the municipality of San Pedro Carchá; it has 4 hydroelectric plants, which are located in cascade over the Cahabón riverbed.  

Currently it has a total of 250 employees distributed between the central headquarters of Guatemala City and the offices of RENACE in San Pedro Carchá. One of the elements for which Renace stands out, is the triple standard certification of ISO 14,001;2015, ISO 9,001:2015 and OHSAS 18,001:2007; its bond to Global Compact, compliance with IFC requirements and its rules of Communitarian Relationships and Strategic Social Investment.
