PT Kayan Â鶹ÊÓƵ Nusantara

PT Kayan Â鶹ÊÓƵ Nusantara (KHN) was established in 2018 and is a joint venture between PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk, PT Kayan Patria Pratama and Sarawak Energy. Unified in vision and enabled by the combined experiences and strengths of the partners, KHN is developing the 1,375 MW Mentarang Induk Hydroelectric Project (MIHEP) in Malinau, North Kalimantan, Indonesia.

With its vision of becoming the driver of Renewable Energy-Based Industrial Development (REBID) in Indonesia, MIHEP will be Indonesia's first large-scale renewable hydropower development to support hydro industrialisation. Once completed, MIHEP will supply renewable energy to Indonesia's largest Green Industrial Park (KIPI) in Tanah Kuning, North Kalimantan.

KHN supports the Indonesian Government’s target of 23% renewable energy by 2025 and 31% by 2050. For its significant role in Indonesia’s REBID agenda, MIHEP has been listed as a National Strategic Project (PSN) by the Government of Indonesia.

Beyond its energy contributions, MIHEP is a catalyst for infrastructure development, utilities, and economic opportunities in the surrounding region, driving sustainable socio-economic transformation in the surrounding area.
