Stand for election to Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Board and shape hydropower’s future
Â鶹ÊÓƵ leaders from all backgrounds and regions of the world are encouraged to stand for election to the Board of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ (Â鶹ÊÓƵ).
Nominations are open until 6 May for the elections taking place between May and August 2021.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Board serves to shape Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s work priorities in support of its mission to advance sustainable hydropower.
Board representatives are normally senior representatives of their companies. Women and members from developing countries are especially encouraged to consider serving on the Board.
You can apply to be a Board member of Â鶹ÊÓƵ by following this simple five step process:
1. Familiarise yourself with Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s activities
If you have not been actively involved with Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s work before now, you may find it useful to learn more about our activities and priorities before you prepare your nomination form.

2. Check your eligibility
Individual members and employees of Â鶹ÊÓƵ corporate members are eligible to stand in the upcoming Board elections. Membership fees must be paid for the membership year in which the election takes place.
3. Prepare a short video and written statement
To stand in Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Board elections you will need to provide a short statement explaining the contribution you can make as a Board member.
Your candidacy should be supported by a short (up to 200 words) written statement in your nomination form explaining to members why they should vote for you, accompanied by a head and shoulders of yourself photograph for inclusion in election materials. You can also submit a short (up to 2-minute) video to accompany your candidacy.
4. Nominate yourself
Nominate yourself in our 2021 Board elections by completing the online form on our website.
The simple form will give Â鶹ÊÓƵ Central Office the information required to process your candidacy. A member of staff from Â鶹ÊÓƵ will be in contact with you following your nomination with instructions on how to submit your supporting material.
5. Prepare to campaign
is an online community for Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s members and partners. The platform hosts knowledge networks and regional groups which users can join to receive and share news and insights on their areas of interest. Candidates can canvass by messaging other members directly or by posting in the corresponding regional group to where a candidate is standing.
In addition, we encourage candidates to use a range of social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter and WeChat, to inform personal networks of their candidacy and highlight reasons why members should vote for them.
