PPC Group (Public Power Corporation Greece PPC S.A.), a leading generator and supplier of electricity in Greece and Romania, is the latest to join the �鶹��Ƶ. With a firm commitment to sustainable energy development, PPC Group is now the largest clean energy company in South eastern Europe (SEE) with 4.7 GW production capacity from renewables, 2.8 GW under construction or ready to build, and a total 20 GW RES portfolio gross pipeline. PPC’s Group RES capacity includes 3.2 GW of large and small hydro plants. Additionally, PPC Group believes in the long term flexibility offered by pump hydro and their role in the future power system. For this reason it is assessing new opportunities including opportunities in its ex-lignite areas. 

Alexios Paizis, deputy CEO of PPC Group for conventional generation and in charge of PPC’s large hydro activities, commented:

�鶹��Ƶ plant Ilarionas, is the latest addition of the PPC Group’s �鶹��Ƶ portfolio, part of the hydro scheme of the Aliakmon River consisting of several large plants (Ilarion, Polyfyto and Assomata) and an open loop pumped storage hydropower plant (Sfikia). The combined installed capacity of these plants is equal to 951 MW.
